"I want you to relax and enjoy fabrics. They aren't your enemy" says Gail Vaughn, and off you go learning what you need to know to work with fabrics in creating your own miniature masterpieces.

One of the things that drew me to miniatures and dollhouses in the first place is the exquisite detail in many of the creations. I am always inspired to see someone create something in 1/12 scale that is an exact replica of the real thing complete with moving parts.

I have never had the creative flare or technical knowledge to create my own stuff in real life. I am more of a consumer than a creator when it comes to decorating- particularly when it comes to drapes, valances and other window treatments.

This video tape (or DVD as the case may be), hosted by Gail Vaughn will teach you the tricks and techniques you need to know in order to do draping, fringing and puddling and help you create your own pillows, curtains, valances and more using real fabric.

I have to admit that while I love books and have many favorites with plenty of tips and techniques for creating miniatures, I find it much easier to learn by actually watching it be done. This Master Miniaturists series could be pricey if you were to buy the entire set at $30 each, but if you find a particular task difficult or feel that you just can't learn something without watching it be done you should check out Master Miniaturists to see if they have a tape that meets your needs.

I have to go create some mini-drapes now.
